Sustainable Solutions for Geotechnical Disaster Mitigation: An Overview of Ongoing Research
发布时间:2025-03-10 浏览次数:
报告摘要:
Geotechnical challenges, such as soft soil, landslides, and earthquakes, are critical concerns in Thailand’s construction sector. Soft clay, particularly Bangkok soft clay, has low bearing capacity, leading to settlement issues that require deep foundations and soil stabilisation. Landslides, common in northern and southern Thailand, are exacerbated by heavy rainfall and human activities, necessitating slope stability analysis and bioengineering solutions. Earthquake hazards, concentrated in the north, pose risks of liquefaction and infrastructure damage, highlighting the need for seismic ground response analysis and ground improvement techniques. Addressing these challenges demands research into sustainable, eco-friendly solutions, integrating computational modelling and aligning with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to enhance infrastructure resilience.
